We stand with planned parenthood (New York, 1970)
"What's the use of getting elected if you don't stand for something?" said NY Assemblyperson George Michaels, before casting a tie-breaking vote to legalise abortion in 1970. This four minute video shows female and male speakers in the assembly talking about their vote and finally George Michael that gave his vote to the legalisation of abortion. Finally this vote ended Michaels's political career.
Regarding these changes one might ask himself or herself, how long ago the fight for abortion rights started and where we are standing now. What power has just one vote in the legislative system we find ourselves in and should it have that much power?
